About Me
My name is Lance Helton.  I teach sixth grade social studies and reading.  I also coach the East Ridge golf team.  My hobbies are golf, hunting, fishing and sports.  I am a product of Hamblen County schools.  I attended Walters' State Community College and East Tennessee State University for my college degrees.  I believe that education is one possession that no one has the ability to take from you.

About Class
In the first Unit the students will learn about the jobs of geographers, archaeologists, anthropologists, and historians.  The students will be learning through a combonation of class discussion, discovery learning, and cooperative learning.  The next unit will focus on the civilization of ancient Mesopotamia.  The students will study the history of the fertile crescent through the eyes of a geographer, historian, archaeologist, and anthropologist in order to apply the information learned in the first unit.

If you ever have any questions please feel free to contact me by writing a note in your child's planner, by email, or by telephone.  I will always get back to you as soon as possible.  The first two weeks of school have been great!  I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching your children so far.
