A Little About Me...
I am a second grade teacher at John Hay School. This is my twenty-fifth year of teaching. I absolutely love seven year olds! Second grade is by far the best grade to teach! I am married to my wonderful husband of 27 years, Dwayne Moore. I have three adult children, Laura, age 21, Brett, age 25, and his beautiful wife, Lane, age 25. I also have a Golden Retriever named Miley. My favorite hobbies are hiking, reading and cooking. I also enjoy Bible study and Contemporary Christian music.

10:00 -11:00 - Spelling/Language Block
11:10-11:40- Lunch
11:45-12:00 - Journals/Independent Reading
12:00-1:00 - Math
1:00-2:00 - Special Area Classes
2:00-2:45 - Science/Social Studies
2:45-3:00 - Wrap Up Review and Prepare to Leave
Subject Highlights: Secret Sentence: Second Grade is the BEST!
This website has exciting games and activities that go along with each reading unit.
Reading: This week is the first week in Theme 2, Nature Walk. Please see our
weekly newsletter for the tested skills we are learning. The skills test
is each Friday. Please look over the workbook pages that are assigned
each day. They should have most of their work completed in class. The
skills that are tested are reviewed on each practice page. Please continue
to have your child read aloud to you at least 10 minutes nightly. Students
should be logging their books and/or chapter titles on thier reading logs.
Spelling: Unit 2, week one words are in their planners--Test on Friday!
Math: This week in math we are working on data, graphing anad probability.
