Introduction to Technology

The Introduction to Technology program is taught in the sixth, seventh and eighth grades and is designed to give the students an introductory experience to technology and its applications in the work place.  The class uses a modular learning environment with each module having a ten day, self-directed curriculum as the teaching method.  The technology modules are intended to give the students the opportunity to interact directly with a variety of technologies representing those commonly found in business and industry.  The goal of this interaction is for the students use the technology to produce a "product" typical of the work place (although on a smaller scale).  Team work is also an important emphasis of the class as all module work is done by groups of two or more.
