Homework is one of the core building blocks in learning. It is assigned for the purpose of practicing what has been learned in class. Homework is assigned on a routine basis and is expected to be turned in on time for credit. Late work is not accepted with the exception of absence due to illness or a family emergency. Many parents wonder how they can help monitor if their child has been doing his or her homework. Each student is given a planner (assignment book) at the beginning of the school year. Students are strongly encouraged to write down their homework every night. This should be the first place parents go to see what their child(ren) has been assigned that day. Parents should read over the assignment book everyday and make it a ritual.
