Program OverviewText Box: The West View library operates on a combination of fixed and flexible scheduling.  

Students visit the library once every two weeks during their extended skills class, as part of the fixed library schedule.

The remaining library time is flexible, allowing library patrons the opportunity to request the library facility and resources when needed.

The Goals of the West View Library are to:

· Provide a collection of instructional materials that support and contribute to the curriculum.

· Provide materials and reference services for the completion of class assignments, homework, and for individual personal growth.

· Provide a pleasant environment for the pursuit of both personal and educational growth.

 

The students, faculty, and staff of West View Middle School share the responsibility of maintaining an environment which allows the library to serve the needs of all. Patrons are expected to maintain a quiet and courteous atmosphere and to respect the rules of the school as well as those specifically to the library.

Checking Out Materials

All materials are checked out at the circulation desk near the main entrance of the Library.

· BOOKS: Students are allowed to borrow materials for a period of ten school days. Materials may be renewed unless requested by another person, or if the patron has overdue books.

· REFERENCE MATERIAL: Students may not check out reference materials. Teachers may request reference materials for use in the
